JPHSA Announces Employee of the Quarter

Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) announced Aroel Green as Employee of the Quarter.  

Ms Green, a Social Services Counselor in the Child & Family Services Division, consistently searches for ways to improve the services JPHSA provides and puts the needs of others before her own. She has a positive can-do attitude and embraces all challenges brought to her attention.

JEFFERSON PARISH HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY (JPHSA), Jefferson Parish, Louisiana is re-advertising for an Executive Director for a public behavioral health and developmental disabilities agency.

Who we are:  In 1989, JPHSA became the first legislatively created local human service authority in Louisiana.  With a budget of approximately $32 million, the organization is responsible for public human services for a population of 450,000.  Using the Policy Governance Model®, the volunteer Governing Board has established JPHSA as a leader in best practices to help people affected by human services needs to lead fuller, more productive lives in our community.

What we are seeking:  We are seeking candidates with Masters Level and preferably Doctorate education with extensive proven leadership experience in complex public or non-profit organizations.  The position requires expertise in the administrative challenges of a large human service agency, complex budgeting, in-depth knowledge of best practices and current therapeutic approaches for individuals and families affected by behavioral health and developmental disabilities, person and family centered principles and experience in managed care.  Candidates should have skills and appreciation of the importance of facilitating integrated services both within the agency such as behavioral health and developmental disabilities and with external agencies, such as vocational rehabilitation, public education, housing, hospitals, chamber of commerce, and workforce development.  Salary for the position will be commensurate with experience.  Individual who previously applied need not reapply.

JPHSA Scores Well in State Satisfaction Surveys

Each year, the Louisiana Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) fields a consumer satisfaction survey – C’est Bon – in the Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) Adult Behavioral Health Clinics. Specially trained teams of consumers and family members evaluate services through interviews with both consumers and clinical staff. OBH recently released the results of the 2010 C’est Bon surveys for JPHSA’s East and West Jefferson Adult Behavioral Health Clinics. To view the results, please click on the links below.

JPHSA’s Annual Management and Program Analysis Report

Each year, Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) prepares an Annual Management and Program Analysis Report (AMPAR) for the preceding Fiscal Year. The AMPAR is provided to the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals (DHH)for inclusion in a comprehensive report informing the Secretary of DHH, the Governor, the Commissioner of Administration, the Louisiana Senate and House of Representatives, and the citizens of the State of Louisiana about: outstanding accomplishments; whether or not the Strategic Plan is on time and target for accomplishment; any operational problems or issues along with recommended corrective action; and, how JPHSA identifies, analyzes, and resolves management issues and evaluates efficiency and effectiveness.
